Meeting of
PAKENHAM PARISH COUNCIL
14 FEBRUARY 2006 IN THE PAVILION, PAKENHAM
PRESENT: Cllr J Mangnall, Cllr H Painter, Cllr P Smith, Cllr R Griffin, Cllr L Patterson and Mrs J Brookman (clerk).
APOLOGIES: Cllr M Sargent and Cllr D Dorling.
1.0 - DECLARATION OF INTERESTS:
There were no declarations of interest.
The Chairman convened the meeting.
2.0 - THE DELL:
The Tree Officer from the Borough Council had contacted Cllr Painter regarding the proposal to fell the beech tree at The Dell and suggested that decay testing should be considered by the parish council so a decision to remove or retain this tree would be made on the best information available. Cllr Painter contacted the Arboricultural Association for details of registered Arboricultural Consultants and had been quoted £300 to £500 plus VAT depending on the number of tests required. It was agreed to withdraw the proposal to fell the beech tree and to carry out the tests at the earliest opportunity but that the proposal to fell the two other trees in the original plan should stand. Clerk to confirm these details to the borough council. Cllr Painter to organise the work to be carried out and to obtain a copy of the public liability insurance for the company carrying out the work.
3.0 - PLANNING APPLICATIONS:
SE/06/1181 Pakenham Water Mill, Mill Road, Pakenham. Applicant - Suffolk Building Preservation Trust. Listed building application - Renewal/replacement of 6 no. windows on east and south elevations. No objections.
4.0 - DATE OF NEXT MEETING:
The next meeting will be held on Monday 6 March at 7.30 pm in the Village Hall, Pakenham.
