The Chairman convened the meeting.

4 - PLANNING APPLICATIONS:

SE/06/1976 - Mr & Mrs P E Ivory Erection of dwelling and cartlodge/garage (following demolition of existing cottage) Benricke, Grimstone End
The age of the cottage proposed for demolition was discussed and whether it was listed and, if not, whether it should be. The Council agreed that they would much prefer the cottage be restored and extended to preserve the character of the village than to have the proposed new dwelling on the site. It was reputed to be one of the few nesting sites for swifts in the area. The Council agreed to object to the application on the grounds as above.

ANY FURTHER APPLICATIONS:

TPO236(1997)6 3 The Greenwoods - Mr & Mrs Raven
Fell one lime tree
This lime tree and a horse-chestnut tree are growing quite close to each other at the rear of the garden. Currently there is a beetle disease that is affecting horse-chestnut trees locally. This horse-chestnut tree may succumb to the disease.
The Council will object to the felling at the present time, but would be happy to review the situation in two years time.

No objection.
