4 - Planning applications:
SE/09/1504 - Pensilva, Fen Road.
Erection of (i) single storey side and rear extension.
Councillors looked carefully at the plans and agreed unanimously to object to the proposal on the following grounds: The OS maps submitted are not up-to-date and do not show Ridgeway correctly.
We feel that there would be an element of over-shadowing and that the side extension is too close to the boundary. We feel bedroom three without a window is not acceptable and that the modelling of the roof is clumsy. We suggest that the courtyard between the two extensions would tend to be over-shadowed and if the extensions are moved together it will reduce the problems to the boundary to Ridgeway.
The design seems to be pinched to the boundary with Ridgeway and as there is so much space on the other side of the property, as a Parish Council, we would prefer the extension to be positioned on the other side.
SE/09/1542 - Pensilva, Fen Road.
Erection of double garage and alteration of vehicular access.
Councillors also agreed to object to this application as they consider that the garage on the NW side looks pinched up to the boundary and to bedroom one, which will overlook it. Councillors think that it would be better if the garage were on the other side, where it will not impinge on the front of the bungalow. The current proposals will add little to the rural street scene and the Council feels that this is a lost opportunity to improve this bungalow for the benefit of all.
SE/09/1518 - Gardeners Lodge, Bury Road, Ixworth.
Erection of single storey pitched roof rear extension (following demolition of existing flat roofed extension) incorporating glazed link.
Councillors agreed unanimously that they have no objection to this application.
