APRIL 8TH 2014 - WATTISFIELD POTTERY VISIT
20140408 - WI Wattisfield Pottery VisitEighteen of us enjoyed an interesting evening to the Wattisfield Pottery original site and gift shop. It was a really super and relaxing evening, we were made so very welcome by two generations of the Watson family. After a fascinating insight into how the famous Watson pottery began, we shopped, we chatted, we ate the most delicious home cooked buffet supper, we chatted, we drank an excellent wine, we chatted a little more and finally left, much to the relief of the family who had almost given up hope of us leaving the premises. A lovely way to spend an April evening amongst friends.

APRIL 10TH 2014 – THE WORK AND HISTORY OF THE NSPCC
Claire Bradley joined us for the evening to tell us of the work of the NSPCC. This delightful and passionate young lady from Norwich, is mainly involved in new school child line programme. The work involves the delicate subject of teaching children 9-11 years old about how to recognise and report child abuse of all kinds.
The T Team which I have to admit included me this week served the most exquisite delicacies, one of which we requisitioned as a birthday cake with a candle on for Ann Walker Fraser.
A lovely meeting ladies, thank you after a very hard and frustrating week regarding the Flower and Produce Show, which was so kindly resolved by the Bryant family visitors at the end of the meeting. Watch this space.

MAY 8TH 2014 - RESOLUTION AND AGM MEETING
This is our one business meeting of the year. Firstly we discuss, and then vote, to approve the resolution to be presented to HM Government on behalf of The Federation of Women’s Institutes for 2014. This year it is on increasing the awareness of organ donation. To help members make a decision I have enlisted the help of Linda Warne from WSH, an authority on the subject.
We then move onto the AGM to decide and elect a committee and president for the year May 2014 to May 2015.

MAY 10TH 2014 – KEEP THE HOME FIRES BURNING
We are out again, this time to the Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds to listen to the nostalgic music of the First World War in the capable hands of Ian Lavender and The London Opera Company.
