Pakenham WI

May 12th 2016 - AGM and Resolution Meeting
WI Meeting 20160512Members were asked to vote on the two NFWI resolutions after hearing the excellent briefings on both. Sheree, a Pakenham WI member gave an in depth talk on the care of Dementia patients in the community and in hospital. Waitrose’s Barnaby enlightened us into the procedure for food waste disposal in our local store.
My grateful thanks go to Sheree and Barnaby. Members voted unanimously in favour of both resolutions being presented to HM Government.

The AGM
Members voted unanimously to retain last year’s committee, plus the very welcome addition of Gill Parry.
Pat delivered her Annual Report as secretary, Jean gave the financial report, and I had the pleasure of thanking a brilliant committee for all their hard work over the year and the members for making every meeting, outing and event such a pleasure to be part of.
I was delighted and honoured to be re-elected as president, to serve a tenth term of office.
Many thanks to everyone for a lovely evening, especially the tea team Pat, Gill and Ann for a scrumptious array of cakes.

May 15th 2016 – Pakenham Watermill Food Fare Day
We have a splendid baking and serving team in place for our home baking stall and look forward to joining the many stall holders for this enjoyable occasion.

June 9th 2016 – The Work of The Suffolk Accident and Rescue Service
Bernie Nunn joins us for the evening to tell of the important work done by SARS, which provides specially trained doctors and paramedics to assist the East of England Ambulance Service at the scene of major accidents and traumatic illnesses.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved with Pakenham WI for their wonderful support and friendship over the past ten years and eagerly await what is in store for 2016/17.
