Pakenham WI News - November 2018

Pakenham WI

It’s difficult to know where to begin this month as we have been so active and so busy.

OCTOBER 24TH 2018 - WATTISFIELD SUPPER
Another wonderful evening courtesy the Watson family. We shopped, we chatted, we ate the most delicious buffet supper and then we painted every type of pottery imaginable. What better way for a girl to relax on a cold October evening.

OCTOBER 27TH 2018 – AUTUMN JUMBLE SALE
Every year it just gets better !!!! Thanks to the most amazing amount of donated goods, which was truly appreciated. We took £602.00 in just two hours and still had plenty left of items left over to dispatch in 2 waiting vans to The Dogs Trust Shop in Attleborough. The proceeds now allow us to move forward into the new year with enough funds to give our members the very best of educational outings, speakers and events.

NOVEMBER 8TH 2018 – GRAND DESIGNS PAKENHAM
We started with a wonderfully supported Christmas Shop in aid of the Hospice Shops, selling the many Christmas items collected over the months in the Bury St Edmunds warehouse. Our speaker John Parker was then introduced to the strains of the Grand Designs TV theme music. He enthralled and delighted a large audience with the amazing story of his recent house build in the village a truly BRILLIANT achievement. We were all truly inspired by John and his fantastic new home.
The tea girls Yvonne and Tracy produced the most delicious eats and very welcome beverages after what was a very long evening. Thank you one and all for making it so special.
