JANUARY 30TH 2019 - ANGLESEY ABBEY
An amazing day at Anglesey Abbey to see the fantastic snowdrops, enhanced by the overnight snow. A first for Pakenham WI, a day trip in the freezing cold and snow.

FEBRUARY 14TH 2019 - THE ROLE AND WORK OF S.A.N.D.S. (Stillborn and Neonatal Death Society)
We were delighted to welcome Angela Carter as our February speaker. Angela is the chair of this recently formed local charity set up to support the parents who have tragically lost a stillborn baby or suffered a miscarriage. It was truly amazing to hear how many parents and indeed entire families are still bereaved in this way even with the evolution of the new medical and digital era. It was also amazing to discover how many of our own members had first-hand knowledge of these tragedies, for most of us long before the advent of modern pregnancy technology. The brilliant talk and presentation evoked much discussion and emotional memories from a very receptive audience.
Very many thanks to the tea girls Barbara and Lynda, for some really great eats, and to all the members who supplied the wonderful Valentines Day raffle prizes. We were also delighted to welcome another new member Carole.

FEBRUARY 20TH 2019 – EXCLUSIVE ST NICHOLAS HOSPICE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE
An evening doing what a girl loves best, retail therapy. Discovering the second hand treasures and outfits at the BSE hospice shop, and giving our financial support to our local hospice.

MARCH 14TH 2019 – THE NEW EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL
Three very well-known faces join us for the evening to share their unique experience of life in India. How many of us would even think of spending our twilight years in a country and culture in such a far off world. As the TV programme has proved maybe an adventure we should all think about. THIS IS AN OPEN MEETING AND GUESTS ARE VERY WELCOME.
