Pakenham WI News - September 2020

Pakenham WI

Sadly it is more cancellation, cancellation and cancellation...

1ST SEPTEMBER 2020 – OUT DOOR COMMITTEE MEETING
This proved a highly productive and enjoyable meeting, where we decided unanimously to ‘bite the bullet’ and at long last resume indoor WI meetings in October. Alison in her Ugandan OrphanageAfter much planning and discussion we contacted all our members for their approval, and amazingly it was more than unanimous. (Our delightful speaker Alison also was very happy and keen to join us with an update on life in her Ugandan orphanage but now this too has had to be postponed until 2021.)

14TH SEPTEMBER 2020
New government COVID regulations came into force meaning we have had no alternative but to cancel all monthly and committee meetings for the foreseeable future.

22ND SEPTEMBER 2020
I have the pleasure of taking part in the first Suffolk West Federation A.G.M. Zoom meeting. This should prove an ideal opportunity to exchange ideas and thoughts on how we progress in the future. Not easy in the present climate.

JANUARY 2021 – THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF PAKENHAM WI
We had hoped to have a massive celebration with the entire village to mark this auspicious occasion in our history. Fingers crossed that a vaccine break through will happen to make 2021 a year to remember in a good and positive way.

Keep safe, keep well everyone,
