21st September 2023 - Visit to STOWMARKET FOOD MUSEUM
Some of our members went on a much anticipated visit to the Food Museum in Stowmarket. So interesting to learn about the history of the site and how it has evolved into the museum it is today, focusing on food and how this impacts on our lives and the environment. Fascinating to be introduced to alternative food source including bugs, which everyone tried. A very worthwhile visit.

30th September 2023 - HOSPICE COFFEE MORNING
Coffee brewing, cakes and sausage rolls ready on the table and people came - local and further afield. No charge but donation boxes on the tables. They were welcomed at the door, bought raffle tickets and helped themselves to food and were served drinks. A volunteer came from the Hospice and sold cards and diaries. Our WI ran the coffee morning but other people helped, donated cakes and raffle prizes. A very successful morning and we feel a good atmosphere and a big thank you to everyone. We made £863.50 for Bury Hospice. We have booked the hall for next year.

12th October 2023 - THE ART OF DRESSMAKING
Hilary from Pearce's Pins was our speaker. She has always had a passion for dressmaking, but she and her husband - a qualified upholsterer - decided to follow their passion and start a business together. She brought clothes which were passed around and Ursula modelled some. Nicky displayed craft items to encourage children to sew. Brilliant speaker.

NOVEMBER 9th 2023 - Blood, sweat and tears - Mary Newton an eminent forensic scientist giving us a fascinating insight into her life-long career.
NOVEMBER 16th 2023 - Ladies who Lunch - Pub lunch - Blue Boar inn in Walsham le Willows.

DECEMBER 7th 2023 - Ladies who Lunch - Pub Lunch - Pakenham Fox.
DECEMBER 14th 2023 - Annual Christmas Dinner - Andrea is cooking her delicious Christmas meal.

JANUARY 11th 2024 - our social evening with a new quiz from Margo.

FEBRUARY 8th 2024 - The History of Midwifery.

MARCH 14th 2024 - Good Food – past its sale date.

Guests are welcome to come and try us.  We meet the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7.30pm, doors open at 7pm.
