Pakenham WI News - June 2013

Pakenham WI

Much to my surprise I find myself in the driving seat of Pakenham W.I.
With the support of the members and a brilliant committee I hope the road will be a rewarding and happy experience.

26th May 2013 - The Fun Day - WI cake stall.
Many thanks to Marion, Doreen and the bakers for their contribution to the magnificent Fun Day event, many, many congratulations to the event organisers

13th June 2013 - The Pre Raphaelite Brotherhood.
A full house of members heard Geoffrey Kay give a fascinating and highly entertaining talk on the art of the Pre Raphaelite Brotherhood,  ably assisted and booked by Ros Griffin. My grateful thanks to Pat, the committee and the refreshment makers for their hard work and super contribution to a lovely evening.

Coming Up:-
23rd June – Sale Trail Day.
Marion has kindly organised a Sale Trail for the village. This is a great way to get rid of all those unwanted items, a big bonus for those of us who have just moved house and I are totally and utterly fed up with visiting the local skip.!!!

8th July – Euston Hall Visit.
A party of girls are visiting this idyllic country residence, home of the Grafton family to view the house and take a genteel cup of tea.

11th July - WI Annual Garden Party Evening.
This annual event which is great fun and is normally accompanied by the most appalling weather of the entire calendar will be held at Diane Townsend’s home, thanks Diane for your kind hospitality. Bring along a plate of food, a mad hat and yourself for a relaxing and enjoyable evening. Anyone who would like to sample the delights of a rural WI get together, feel free to join us.

Watch this space for more places to go and people to come and see next month.
