Pakenham WI News - July 2013

Pakenham WI

23rd June 2013 - THE SALE TRAIL
Many, many congratulations and thanks to Marion Sargent who organised this event on behalf of Pakenham WI. The sale raised £ 264.00 for our institute funds.

8th July 2013 - VISIT TO EUSTON HALL
A party of girls spent an idyllic and relaxing afternoon visiting this local stately home. The house itself was relatively small with only five rooms open for viewing, its artwork and history proved fascinating. We talked and viewed, talked and walked, talked and drank tea, talked and discussed all its attributes and came home talked out but very pleased with our afternoon excursion. Just what a girl needs on a hot summers day.

11th July - ANNUAL GARDEN PARTY
Finally after three years of hoping for a balmy summer evening for our annual garden party, not a cloud in the sky. Thirty two members gathered in Diane Townsends garden to eat, drink and be merry. The food and surroundings were superb, an excellent time was had by all. Marion Sargent won the mad hat competition wearing what can only be described as a Wimbledon/Andy Murray extravaganza. Carole Hurrell organised a food tasting and plant guessing competition, which enhanced the evening's entertainment. Many thanks to Diane for her kind hospitality, to the committee for their hard work, but most of all to the members for their scrumptious food and company.
