FEBRUARY 20TH 2019 – ST NICHOLAS HOSPICE SHOPPING EVENING
A brilliant and most exclusive shopping experience for Pakenham WI. The hospice shop on Great Barton Road is an absolute treasure trove of clothes, fabulous bric a brac from kitchen pots to amazing glass ware. I had been seeking sherry glasses for months, and here the choice was endless. Pictures in abundance and really good quality furniture. All items were very affordable and in the very best condition. We were treated to refreshments and a brilliant raffle.
Such a good experience that all the WI’S in our region have been invited to a similar evening on the 3rd April 2019 from 6PM to 8PM, an experience not to be missed. More importantly all proceeds are in aid of our local hospice.

14TH MARCH 2019 – THE VERY REAL MARIGOLD HOTEL
Another fabulous evening in the life of Pakenham WI. Julie, Jo and Lesley attired in the most exotic Indian clothes gave us a fascinating insight into life in India. After watching the film and BBC series Exotic Marigold Hotel, they and their partners decided to savour the experience, and what an experience it turned out to be. We were treated to a brilliant presentation of their holiday in wonderful pictures, from trips, accommodation and even the medical and dental facilities which they sampled. Four of the party had dental work carried out because of the price and exceptional workmanship. The clothes they had brought back were fantastic prices and quality. A brilliant and very thought provoking talk for us all, and well worth considering a trip. A Pakenham WI sleepover now a distinct  possibility !!!!!
My thanks to everyone for a great evening especially the tea girls Pat and Val, and the additional bakers Gill and Yvonne. The evening raised £82.00 for Macmillan.

Cindy Dickerson is our special guest for the evening to give an insight into the dedicated work of The Blood Runners. These are the emergency response teams who no matter what the weather, time of day, or distance, transport the vital blood that is required to save lives.
