FEBRUARY 16TH 2023 – LADIES WHO LUNCH
The March lunch was a requested return visit to The Thurston Victoria, the food, the ambience and the company was superb.
MARCH 9TH 2023 – THE HISTORY OF THE LACEMAKERS OF EYE
Nicky Hoewner-Townsend was at last our guest speaker after 2 cancellations due to the pandemic. Her talk was interesting and informative and told the story of the lace industry in our county. She had discovered that the earliest evidence of the craft in Eye was in 1673 and had documented finding the early bobbins. She even discovered she had lived in the flat of an early lace maker in Ipswich. After finding patterns in the V and A museum. Nicky had amazingly redrawn and worked the patterns herself. A very talented lady.
MARCH 14TH 2023 – VISIT TO THE YUM-YUM FUDGE FACTORY
We look forward to visiting this local fudge factory and testing their products.
MARCH 23RD 2023 – LADIES WHO LUNCH
This months lunch is yet another requested return visit, this time to indulge in the great cuisine of The White Horse at Badwell Ash.
MARCH 25TH 2023 – THE JUMBLE SALE
This much needed fund raiser is for our own depleted funds, another annual event cancelled numerous times due to the pandemic. We look forward to a profitable day.
APRIL 13TH 2023 – THE VULNERABLE WOMEN OF KAMPALA
Popular speaker and friend Alison Brain makes a very welcome return visit to update us on her latest visit to the orphanage in Uganda and tempt to us to buy the fabulous goods made by the women there that she imports into the UK to provide the funds for this vital work.
