Pakenham WI News - August 2023

10th August 2023 – Amanda Sutherland, a fashion designer.
We were delighted to have a return visit by our speaker Amanda Sutherland. Her wonderful selection of fashion accessories, all hand crafted by herself, gave us great ideas for presents.
Three Birthdays this month. One special lady had cake, candles and Happy Birthday sung loudly as she had reached 80 years!!

24th August 2023 - Ladies who lunch.
Each month we visit different pubs and have lunch and socialise.  This month we are returning to the Royal George in Barningham.

SEPTEMBER 2023
14th - Biscuits by design – Peta Wilson, owner of the Bury Biscuit Company, demonstrates the art of biscuit making and designing for every occasion.
21st - Outing to the Food Museum in Stowmarket.
Ladies who lunch - date and venue to be decided.
30th - Coffee morning in the village Hall 10-12. Come and support our fund-raising for the Hospice in Bury. Tea, coffee, soft drinks and our delicious cakes and savoury food - includes food allergies.  Raffle. Donations for the Hospice.

OCTOBER 2023
12th - The Art of Dressmaking - Hillary and her husband run Pierces Pins in Ixworth, a  traditional dressmaking and upholstery service.

NOVEMBER 2023
9th - Blood, sweat and tears - Mary Newton an eminent forensic scientist giving us a fascinating insight into her life-long career.

DECEMBER 2023
14th - Annual Christmas Dinner - Andrea is cooking her delicious Christmas meal and entertainment follows.
Ladies who lunch - date and venue to be decided.

Guests are welcome so do come along  at 7.30 to the Village Hall and we will make sure you are not left on your own.
