Thursday 14th November 2024
Mike Dean volunteers at Pakenham Watermill where he gives tours. The left part of the mill dates from 1700 and the mill house from 1600. In 1840, witches’ bottles were found. The watermill became a member of the Preservation Society in 1981. Rye, wholemeal and spelt continue to be milled on the site. In addition to tours, there are gardens, a tearoom and much more. A very informative evening with excellent pictures.
Our next meeting is on Thursday 12th December in our Village Hall. Time to chat, relax and enjoy a lovely supper cooked by Andrea Davey.
In March 2024, Sarah Bullen talked about ‘Still Good Food’- distributing food donated by businesses, sometimes close to sell by dates, to people at reduced cost whilst reducing food waste. We are pleased to tell you Sarah has been given the King’s Award for Voluntary Service.
On Thursday, January 9th 2025, we shall welcome Margo and Linus back for our Annual Quiz. Doors open at 7pm and the meeting begins at 7.30pm. There are refreshments and an opportunity to chat. Start the New Year and join us.
