Pakenham WI enjoyed an evening captivated by beekeeper Geoff Beckitt. He shared his journey into beekeeping and explained the fascinating life cycle of the honeybee with passion. We enjoyed fascinating slides, showcasing not only the bees but also the inner workings of the hive. The presentation was both brilliant and informative, sparking discussion. Geoff also brought a hive, equipment, offered honey samples, and provided jars of honey for purchase. It was an amazing insight to the magic behind every buzzing hive.
Pakenham WI members and friends enjoyed a brilliant ghost walk in March with the fantastic Mike Dean. The evening was filled with eerie tales and history, bringing the town’s ghostly past to life. The weather was perfect, adding to the atmosphere. A thoroughly enjoyable and spine- chilling experience for all.

Our next meeting is on Thursday 8th May. As there are VE celebrations on the playing field that evening and we cannot change the day of the meeting, we asked members if they would like to bring forward the start time FOR MAY ONLY to 6.30pm, instead of 7.30pm – doors will open at 6pm. Members can then visit the playing field if they wish.
It is our AGM meeting and we shall elect the committee for 2025 - 2026, vote on the resolution and have entertainment.
Refreshments follow and it will give you an opportunity to chat with members. Do come and join us.
We have our ‘Ladies Who Lunch’ this month.
Our Jumble Sale was a great success. We took £433 on the day, less expenses, for our funds. Items not sold were given to St Nicholas Hospice shop and Mencap in Thetford. WI members collected jumble, sorted, sold and cleared up and people from the village came, helped and bought. Many thanks indeed to everyone.
Pat Addington, President of Pakenham WI.
