On Thursday 8th May we held our AGM, updated members about our monthly meetings and gave out Birthday posies. We voted on the Resolution, Secretary and President Reports were given. I am thrilled and proud to stand as President for another year with virtually the same committee. I could not manage without them and we work well together.
There are 8 WIs in our Suffolk West Group and once a year in June some of us get together, have a speaker/entertainment; this year, Great Barton WI have chosen a former Bluebell girl. There will also be a quiz, raffle and refreshments and opportunity to meet members from other WI’s. Next year it is Pakenham WI’s turn - watch this space!
Thursday August 8th - we are visiting the Hindu Temple in Neasden.
Saturday September 13th - Coffee morning in aid of St Nicholas Hospice in Bury – tea, coffee and homemade delicious cakes. No charge, but donation boxes will be in the hall. Last year we raised £735 for the Hospice.
Our next WI meeting in the village hall is on Thursday 12th, June at 7.30pm. Jeanette, a reflexologist for 30 years will be our speaker. She will tell us the history of reflexology, how it works and will make it an interesting and fun evening.
Doors open at 7pm to enable members to chat.
Meeting notices, speaker, followed by refreshments. Come and join us.
Pat Addington, President of Pakenham WI.
