Minutes of the meeting held on 22 MARCH 2005
Pakenham Village Hall

Present: Cllr J Mangnall, Cllr H Painter, Cllr L Patterson, Cllr D Dorling, Cllr M Sargent, Cllr R Griffin, Patsy Dell, Head of Planning and Engineering St Edmundsbury Borough Council, Mr James Reinman, Shetland Boats, Cllr C Spicer, Cllr V White, Mrs S Jackson, Mr & Mrs R Curtis, Mr G Evans, Mr & Mrs S Brown, Mr D Miles, Mr & Mrs C Wiseman, Mrs D Farthing, Mrs V Dorling, Mr & Mrs M Wright, Mr M Sargeant and Mrs J Brookman (clerk).

1.0 - DECLARATION OF INTERESTS:-
There were no declarations of interest.

2.0 - THE BROADWAY, GRIMSTONE END, PAKENHAM:-
The members of the meeting were able to put questions to Patsy Dell and James Reinman to confirm the current situation regarding the planning application relating to Shetland Boats. To date the conditions proposed by the Planning Department are not enforceable as the 106 Agreement is still being prepared by the Borough Legal Department. Patsy Dell confirmed that the permission was granted in August 2004 for a temporary period of 1 1/2 years which only comes into force once the 106 Agreement is completed, so in fact has not yet commenced.

Members of the meeting expressed their concerns regarding the number of deliveries being made to the site and the size of the vehicles involved which do not appear to be adhering to the directive to enter and leave the site via Thieves Lane and not Fen Road. There was also concern about the amount of time the doors of the building were open.

Patsy Dell agreed to look into the resources available for monitoring the vehicular problems and also to ensure that the permission is issued as quickly as possible.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, 11 April, 2005 in the Village Hall, Pakenham commencing at 7.30 pm.
